Wow! I didn't realize that WA doesn't screen! My nephew has classical galactosemia (http://gregorysgalactosemia.blogspot.com) and it was detected early on as well - due to the screening process.
Can you imagine not having that security?!? Nightmare.

Thank you so much for yr comment! WA now screens for Classic Galactosemia. - It is so scary to imagine what could happen without the test. The Save Babies Foundation was founded by a family who did not receive diagnosis until after their baby was gone.

There are still too many expectant parents that do not know or are misinformed about Newbornscreening. Having am undiagnosed disorder that could have been caught by Newbornscreening is beyond tragic. The Save Babies Foundation published an amazing and powerful video. It is on their site :)
